Reuse policy

Our research is meant to be used. Cite FinePrint, link the page you drew from, and build on it: findings, database records, contract analysis, all of it can be shared. If you want to republish a piece wholesale or add to one, ask us - we’re typically open to any responsible reporting on this topic.

Document sharing

Every finding on this site traces back to a document: a contract, a FOIA return, meeting minutes, or an audit log. Most are linked from the page itself. If the file you need isn’t linked, just reach out. We share source documents, FOIA returns, and interview records on request, and we don’t need a byline for it. Tell us what you’re working on so we can pull the right records the first time.

Working on an angle? If it’s in our wheelhouse, we’ll research it alongside you and pass findings directly to you. Our expertise is research and investigations; publishing is simply how we get information to an audience. If you have a large audience and a relevant story, we often pull documents, submit records requests, and investigate in support of it.

How to cite

Name FinePrint and link to the relevant page. For numbers pulled from our trackers, note the date you pulled them; the databases update as new records come in (daily). If you need methodology, comment, or a walkthrough of how we sourced a claim, email us.
